Throw a No Hassle Graduation Party: Part 1 – The Theme

Tiger Mascot

For the purpose of being helpful to the greatest number of people, we have decided to plan a party around a School Spirit theme. This means the party colors would be your school colors, decorations will include things like your school mascot and varsity letters, and everything will have a somewhat classic look to it.

This series, however, will be relevant to you whether you have the same theme or not. The tips, tricks, and resources I will be sharing will be applicable to any party theme!

In fact, the graduation party I am planning for my sister-in-law is in a completely different theme (Vintage Shabby Chic) but the work I’m doing for this series is super beneficial to planning her party as well!

"Once you have decided on your party date, time, and theme, it is time to start thinking about invitations."

So let’s begin on our element for today: stationery. There are TONS of options out there in every imaginable layout, color, or theme.

To help you navigate the internet waters, I will be talking about the 5 best places to order graduation stationery from today. (Please note that I do not receive anything from any of the shops I will mention, I simply want to help you know what your options are for ordering online!)

Stationery

Don’t forget that the thank you card is  just as important as the party invitation! This also falls into the category of stationery and you would be wise to go ahead and get both at the same time… just to be covered!

To help save you time, I have found a collection of invitations that have the school spirit feeling to them as well as thank you cards. So, if you want to make things super hassle free, you could simply choose one of the cards I have picked for you!

The 5 Best Places to Order Graduation Invitation and Thank You Cards

1. Shutterfly

Shutterfly is notably one of the most popular websites for creating personalized products, including stationery. Shutterfly has a lot of options available for purchase! It was not hard to find something that would fit our party theme. The pricing is pretty reasonable, usually ranging from $0.32 to $2.68 per card ordered. Also, Shutterfly often releases discount codes. Right now, they are offering free shipping on orders of more than $39! So that also helps to save on costs.

2. Tiny Prints

Tiny Prints is another photo product company that has products you can personalize. In fact, they are owned by the same parent company. For that reason, while the designs will be different on the two different sites, the pricing will be virtually exactly the same. Tiny Prints also releases coupons and has a Free Shipping promo happening right now for orders over $49.

3. Snapfish

Snapfish is not as well known as the first two companies I’ve talked about, but they are another force to be reckoned with. Snapfish offers plenty of options for your stationery needs! If you are looking for a deal, this site offers the best pricing, ranging from $0.45 to $1.60 per card. This site is also offering free shipping on orders over $29 OR free 2-day shipping on orders over $49. Seems like a pretty nice deal to me!

4. Pear Tree Greetings

Pear Tree Greetings is a lesser known online print shop that offers gorgeous card designs. They are also recognized as being one of the best bargains for your dollar. Their stationery products range from about $0.92 to $2.22 per card, but they have the best average pricing for ordering 100-200 cards ($0.92 to $1.39 per card). They may not have a promo for free shipping, but they do have discounts off your order depending on how much you spend (10-20% off). This site is definitely worth looking at!

5. Etsy

Last but certainly not least is Etsy. If you are looking for something a little more unique or custom, this is the place to go! Etsy features many different artists who have designed their own products and can create the ultimate custom experience for you! While some shops will still offer to print and mail your cards to you, the more standard option is to purchase a downloadable PDF. You can then take this to your local print shop OR superstore (Walmart for example) and have them printed there. For a digital download, you will pay a flat price for the file and then whatever the cost per printed card is at your local print shop.

Since there are many different shops and artists on Etsy, I have picked two invitations and one thank you card that I found to fit our theme. AND since not all graduation parties are for high school or college seniors, one of the invitations is for a slightly smaller graduate!
