Throw a No Hassle Graduation Party: Part 1 – The Theme

Hi there busy mommy!

I don’t know about you, but I love this time of year. The outdoors are peaceful and bursting with new life, children are excited for their soon-to-come summers at home, and graduates are closing the chapters on their childhood and preparing for the leap they will take into adulthood. All the while, mommies like you are busy behind the scenes making sure your house is ready for the spring, you’re planning out your summer and the activities you will do with your children, and maybe you’re even stressing over planning a memorable graduation party for your recent grad!

Well, that is where I am excited to say that I can be of service! I know how stressful planning any kind of party can be… especially when you want to make it special and memorable. Recently, my younger sister-in-law asked me for my help in planning her high school graduation party. I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to talk you through my planning process, provide you with some valuable party planning advice, and maybe help you with your party as well!

Over the next two weeks, I will be releasing a series of blog posts that will cover all of the important aspects of a graduation party: the stationery (invitations/thank you cards), the food, the activities/games, the decorations, and more. I hope this series will give you a little piece of mind while planning your own party. All of my topics will be within the same party theme, but please know that you can change the theme to whatever suits your taste! Regardless of theme, the rest of the party elements and the knowledge you will get from this series will still be applicable to you!

Speaking of theme, this is our first order of business. When planning a party of any sort, it is always easiest to pick out your theme with your guest of honor and then to plan the rest of the elements from there. I always like to get the opinions of the guest of honor for parties like these, especially when they are old enough to care about their input.

In today’s day and age, there are all kinds of graduation party themes, some more unique than others.  For the series I will be writing, I will be planning a School Spirit Graduation Party since this is one of the most common themes!

If you are planning a graduation party, I hope you will stay tuned in on this series and really get some value out of reading it! Click here to go to the next post in which I will be going over different stationery ideas for invitations, thank you cards, and more.
