“One kind word can change someone’s entire day.”
November is a great time for celebrating gratitude and kindness. As we begin to head into the holiday season, and towards the end of the year, we want to encourage you to think about the kind of mark you are leaving on the world this year. Have you spent time intentionally spreading kindness and gratitude on the people you encounter each day?
Today, we have a SUPER fun activity for you to complete with your friends and family. Since we love any excuse for getting together with our loved ones to celebrate and spend time together, we thought it would be a fabulous idea to create an event centered around random acts of kindness. So, we went to work coming up with a group activity for this season… and of course we wanted to throw in a little bit of competition to make it more fun!
This season, we want to encourage you to complete a Random Acts of Kindness Scavenger Hunt with your friends and family! We have created a beautiful printable for you, with 15 different acts of kindness to complete.
To complete this activity, you will need to have a handful of items ready for each couple/team to use. For each team you have competing in the Random Acts of Kindness Scavenger Hunt, you will need: 1 Copy of the Random Acts of Kindness Scavenger Hunt Free PDF, 1 Rake, 4 Blank Cards, 2 Envelopes, 2 Stamps, and 1 Small Trash Bag.
You will also need to ask your guests to bring $20 cash, 3 used books to donate, and a camera (or smartphone) with them to your party.
Then, get everyone together and explain how the scavenger hunt will work. Let your guests know that they will need to complete all 15 items as quickly as possible, take photos of each task when it is completed, and return to your home to finish. If you wish, you can award prizes to the first team back, but the greater reward is always the sense of love and goodness that comes from spreading kindness.
We hope you enjoy this activity and we can’t wait to hear how your RAOK event affects not only those you are showing kindness to, but also how it affects you and your guests.
