Franken-Treats: A Recipe for Halloween

Making desserts is one of our favorite parts of entertaining and party planning. This week, we are thrilled to share our newest party treat with you: a Franken-Treats Rice Krispies Treat for your Kids Halloween Party! These treats are not only delicious, but super cute to look at and easy to make.

1. Franken-Treats Supplies

SUPPLIES:

  • Rice Krispie Treats – We purchased pre-made treats for ease, but you can make your own if you wish.
  • Green Melting Chocolates
  • Black Melting Chocolates
  • Medium Sized Candy Eyes
  • Black Writing Frosting
  • Cup for Melting Chocolate
  • Parchment Paper for Cooling

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Bake or unwrap Rice Krispie Treats from their packaging.

2. Rice Krispie Treats

2. Place Green Melting Chocolates in a deep, microwave safe cup and melt chocolates according to package directions. Alternatively, you could choose to melt your chocolates on the stove as well.

3. Melt Green Chocolates

3. Dip each Rice Krispie Treat ⅔ of the way into the green melted chocolate.

4. Dip Rice Krispies Treat into Green Chocolate

4. Place chocolate dipped treats on a piece of parchment paper. Let cool completely.

5. Cool Green Chocolate Covered Rice Krispies on Parchment Paper

5. Melt black chocolates in the same way as step 2.

6. Black Melted Chocolates

6. Dip treats ⅓ of the way into the black chocolates (opposite side of the green chocolate side). Then set aside to cool completely on the parchment paper.

7. Dip Treat into Black Chocolate

7. Dip Treat into Black Chocolate

7. Using your Black Writing Frosting, “glue” on two medium sized candy eyes and draw on a diagonal line to become the mouth. Let harden completely.

8. Glue on Eyes and Draw Mouth

8. Using your Black Writing Frosting, draw two short cross lines across the monster mouth. Let harden completely and your Franken-Treats are done!
