Welcome to our BONUS blog for July! I am really happy you are here today because I am doing a special tutorial style post where we are going to show you how to make your very own corset bachelorette party invitation! AND I will be giving you a free template for you to use when making your own!
When I was getting married a few years ago, I decided to host a glamping bachelorette party with all my girlfriends. I loved the idea of making my own invitations and I absolutely loved the corset style invitations I saw all over Pinterest. So, I decided to draw up my own version and use some colored/patterned paper that made you think of camping – yellow gingham! Everybody loved these invitations, so I knew that you would love having a tutorial for them as well! Here is a photo of the invitations I had made!
If this is the first time you are stopping by the Kitsch ‘n Whimsy blog, then you should know that we are all about party planning! Each month, we bring you one epic seven part party planning guide along with a couple bonus posts about any range of topics. We have just finished our Glamping Themed Bachelorette Party Series, which you can go back and read by clicking here, and will be starting our next party planning series next Monday! Now let’s get right to that tutorial!
Corset Bachelorette Party Invitation Tutorial
Supplies Needed for Creating a Single Invitation:
- 1 Piece of Card Stock Paper – You will at least need to get a white card stock paper to cut out your invitation base with. If you are lucky enough to find a piece of card stock paper with the pattern on it that you already love and is white on the other side (like the paper I use in the example below), then you will only need that paper and no other scrapbook paper listed below.
- 1 Piece of Patterned Scrapbook Paper (if necessary)
- 1 Piece of Printer Paper (plus a Word type computer program and a printer)
- 1 Monogram Bling Sticker
- 1 Strand of Ribbon (at least 10 inches)
- Glue Stick
- Hole Punch
Print off the invitation template and trace/cut out of card stock paper. Fold along the dotted lines to create the invitation base. If necessary, cut out an additional invitation template out of your patterned paper. Glue this entire template to the back side of your invitation template base.
Download and open inner invitation template in a computer program like Microsoft Word. Using your program of choice, enter text on top of the template – making sure to include all of your party details. Print off your completed inner invitation, cut out, and glue to the inside of your card stock invitation base.
Place your monogram bling sticker on the outside bottom right side of the invitation.
Punch out five holes on each side of the invitation flaps – the small dots on the invitation template show you where to place these holes. Then, string your ribbon through the holes and tie off in a bow at the top. Your invitation is now completed!
Don’t you want to just create a bunch of these now? These invitations are pretty easy to make and turn out ridiculously cute! Your guests will absolutely love them… and will especially love the thought and time that will have gone into making them. You can also create an insert like the one in the photo at the top of this post to place inside the invitation to let your guests know what your bra and underwear sizes are, if you so desire.
