Happy Monday to you friend!

Thank you so much for stopping by to read my post this morning! It means so much to me that you are reading and following along with this party planning blog series. I hope I’ve been able to give you some valuable tips to help you get started in planning your own party. I am so excited about today’s post where we are talking all about the cupcake desserts for a baking birthday party.

Before I get to the meat of this post, I wanted to be sure that you knew this post is the fifth installment in a seven part series on planning a baking birthday party. Definitely be sure to check out parts 1-4 if you haven’t already. Here are the links that will take you there:

OK… so let’s get to the desserts! Since our party theme is centered around cupcakes and baking, I think serving cupcakes as your dessert is the obvious way to go. However, nobody said you had to serve a boring cupcake! So, in today’s post, I will give you three cupcake recipes and three frosting recipes that are SURE to delight your party guests. These recipes have been tried, tested, and stamped with the approval of many a party guest of mine. Here we go!

Kitsch ‘n Whimsy’s Wondrous Cupcake Creations

1. Kitsch ‘n Whimsy’s Famous Chocolate Cupcakes with Peanut Butter Frosting

This is the most complicated recipe I will share with you today; however, it is one of our most requested types of cupcakes we make! This cupcake features a very moist chocolate cake with a creamy cream cheese peanut butter frosting. The recipe provided will create enough batter to make 18 cupcakes.

Since you are hosting a baking birthday party, you can always have the party guests make these cupcakes from start to finish or you could have the cupcakes ready to be frosted by the party guests instead!

You could even provide a couple different types of frosting (lots of different frosting flavors will taste good on this chocolate recipe) in addition to the peanut butter frosting, and different kinds of garnishes. My favorite for this particular cupcake and frosting recipe is a miniature Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup.

2. Kitsch 'n Whimsy's Souped Up Strawberry Cupcakes with Strawberry Frosting

This cupcake is one of the easiest to make but is one of my biggest hits, especially among kids! The best part is, that you only need five ingredients to make the cake batter! This cupcake features a deliciously spongy strawberry cake with a smooth cream cheese strawberry frosting. The recipe provided will create enough batter to make 24 cupcakes.

If you want to include a small garnish for these cupcakes as well, I love to top my strawberry cupcakes with Swedish Fish. Kids will especially love these!

3. Kitsch 'n Whimsy's Scrumptious Spiced Cupcakes with Maple Cinnamon Frosting

This cupcake is also easy to make and is super popular among party guests! Here’s my big secret… the cake is nothing more than a boxed spice cake! The frosting is what makes this cupcake so delicious! This cupcake features a yummy spice cake with a delectable cream cheese maple cinnamon frosting. The recipe provided will create enough batter to make 24 cupcakes.

If you want to include a small garnish for these cupcakes as well, I love to top my spiced cupcakes with a small caramel square. Your adult party guests will especially love these!
