Welcome back to our BONUS blog post where we are revealing our top 10 gifts for a graduate!
After writing out our 7 part series all about planning a graduation party, I thought it would be a good idea to write a post geared towards graduation party goers. So today, I want to reveal to you 10 great gift ideas to give to a graduate. Some will be better suited to a high school graduate and some to a college graduate since I know you will probably be attending parties for both this summer.
If you are a parent who is planning a graduation party this summer, definitely be sure to check out our series about graduation party planning! Here is the link to the first part to get you started:
So without further ado, here are my top ten picks for unique graduation gifts this year:
10 Unique Gifts for a Graduate
1. A Cooking Gift Set - Cookbook & Apron
Once your graduate leaves home and is off to college (or graduated from college and out in the big world), we know the only thing they will desire more than seeing their family is a home cooked meal. So why not help them out? “Meal in a Mug” is a fantastic cookbook that will allow your graduate to make simple meals for themselves right in their microwave using only a coffee mug! It doesn’t get simpler than that. And while you’re at it, don’t forget to get your grad the apron to go with! Of course we can’t help but suggest one of our fun and flirty aprons – perfect for a college bound student or recent college grad!
2. The Home T
This sweet t-shirt by The Home T is a constant reminder for your recent grad of home! I love that you can order the shirt with any state on the front AND it helps your college bound kid let their peers know where they are from! This gift is especially special if the graduate is going to an out of state college. Who knows, maybe it will help them connect with other students who are from the same state and far from home!
3. The Graduate’s Survival Kit by Rachel Cruze
I am a huge proponent of Dave Ramsey and financial control. This graduate survival kit would make a fantastic gift for any college bound grad to help them prepare for being financially in charge of themselves. This kit, which is sold by the Dave Ramsey group, will help guide and prepare your graduate for their financial future. A must have for any graduate!
4. Backwards Clock
This graduation gift may seem like a joke gift at first, but hear me out! When I was in college, my roommate was gifted a wall clock that worked backwards. It definitely helped to keep us on our toes and gave our brains a jump start first thing every morning. Plus, it made for a really great discussion piece with our college peers.
5. The Freedom Journal by John Lee Dumas
I am also a huge proponent of John Lee Dumas of EOFire! The Freedom Journal is a recent book that John released all about accomplishing your #1 goal in 100 days. I think this would make a fantastic graduation gift for a college graduate! Who has bigger goals than a college grad? Help a graduate you know accomplish their goals by ordering them one of these journals.
6. Literary Scarves
Know a recent high school grad off to college to obtain a degree in English? Then these literary scarves are the absolute PERFECT gift for them! You are given the option of 4 classic books/writers: Jane Austen, Alice in Wonderland, Wuthering Heights, and Pride & Prejudice. If a grad you know loves to read, then don’t pass up one of these unique scarves as a gift idea!
7. Math Formulas Tie
Similar to the literary scarves, this Math Formulas Tie is a perfect gift for that math-loving graduate you know so well! This would make the perfect gift for a college math major graduate who is about to enter the working world. What a fun way for them to show off their fun loving personality during their coming job interviews.
8. Letters to My Future Self
I love this idea for a high school graduate. When you are about to enter into the college scene, you have so many dreams of who you will be and what you will do. Why not get one of these high school graduates a packet of letters with prompts to write to themselves. They are already post date stamped so they can write the letters and receive them later in their life to see how they have grown and matured.
9. You Earned It Bottle Opener
This bottle opener makes me laugh and would be a perfect gift for a college graduate (who is 21 or older). How many times do you open up a bottle of beer or pour yourself a glass of wine at the end of a hard day, feeling you’ve earned it. I love that this bottle validates you! Too funny.
10. Be Yourself Paperweight
I feel like we all need a reminder of how important it is to be yourself regardless of what others think. However, I think it is especially important for new college students to remember this truth. I love that this paperweight reminds students that the people who are important will accept you for who you are, and the ones who don’t matter won’t. This paperweight would make a great desk decoration memento for any recent graduate.
So that is it! Now that we are all armed with tons of unique ideas, I am super excited to go out shopping for a special gift for my sister-in-law this weekend! Are you?
